The Independent Expert Group that advises the Commission on financial matters is to publish two new reports - on borrowing, and on natural resource taxation - on Friday 5 June.

The two papers, which Commission members have already seen in draft, address the question of whether Scottish Ministers should have power to borrow, and consider issues around taxation of natural resources such as North Sea oil and gas.

The papers are both published by Heriot-Watt University, where Professor Anton Muscatelli, chair of the IEG, is Principal and Vice-Chancellor.
